1. Winding ground fault. In the three-phase winding, one or more insulation damages, causing the iron core and the base in the winding to collide and the current to communicate with the base. Such a fault is called a winding ground fault.

3. The influence of winding grounding. After the winding has a ground fault, if the inverter is not properly protected, the chassis will be charged. Although the variable frequency speed control motor can still operate, when the human body touches the base, the current will enter the human body and the earth to form a loop, which is dangerous to human life. When one of the phase windings is grounded, the grounding point forms a loop with the base, which reduces the number of turns of the phase winding, thereby increasing the phase current, resulting in a three-phase current imbalance. When two of the one-phase windings are grounded at the same time, the two groundings of the winding are short-circuited between the core and the base. The more turns of the shorted coil, the greater the phase current increases. If two phases of the two-phase winding are grounded at the same time, it will cause phase-to-phase short circuit, burn the coil, and even make the variable frequency speed control motor unable to start running.
